Job Summary:
Capital University invites applicants with expertise in the following areas: Educational Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Industrial or Organizational Psychology, SPSS.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching & Learning:
- Develop and deliver high-quality teaching materials across a range of undergraduate and postgraduate modules.
- Desired software skill (SPSS)
- Design and implement student-centered and research-informed teaching strategies.
- Adapt course content and teaching materials to local and international contexts.
- Supervise student research projects, fieldwork, and industry placements.
- Contribute to the planning, design, and development of new courses and programs.
- Assess student coursework, examinations, and research projects, ensuring constructive feedback and academic support.
- Act as a personal tutor and mentor, supporting students’ academic progress and professional development.
- Integrate technology-enhanced learning methods to improve engagement and accessibility.
Research & Scholarly Activity:
- Extend and apply research knowledge to teaching, learning, and professional practice.
- Identify and pursue external funding opportunities for research and knowledge transfer initiatives.
- Publish research findings in high-impact peer-reviewed journals and present at national and international conferences.
- Develop and strengthen interdisciplinary research collaborations within and beyond the university.
Academic Administration & Leadership:
- Lead and coordinate specific modules, research initiatives, or student engagement programs.
- Adapt teaching materials to the local contexts of Bahrain
- Contribute to the planning, design and development of course and curriculum
- objectives and review, accreditation, and quality assurance processes.
- ∙Contribute to the university’s academic governance and policy development.
- ∙Plan and coordinate student-centered activities, including field trips, industry
- visits, and experiential learning initiatives.
Student Support & Inclusive Learning:
- Provide academic and career counseling to students.
- Support students with Specialist Educational Needs (SEN) and those requiring additional psychological or learning support.
- Develop and implement inclusive teaching strategies that promote equity and accessibility.
- Identify areas for improvement in student learning support services and recommend enhancements.
Industry & Community Engagement:
- Build and maintain collaborations with mental health institutions, Ministry agencies, NGOs, and corporate organizations.
- Provide consultancy services, psychological assessments, and intervention programs to external organizations.
- Engage in public education, awareness campaigns, and professional training initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Psychology or a closely related field from a reputable institution.
- Specialization in one or more areas, such as Cognitive Psychology, Organizational Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Neuropsychology, or Applied Psychology.
Teaching & Research Experience:
- Proven experience in teaching Psychology at the higher education level.
- Publications in peer-reviewed journals.
- Experience in developing academic curricula and designing teaching materials.
- Ability to design and implement inclusive teaching and assessment strategies.
- Experience in supervising undergraduate and postgraduate research projects.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Comprehensive understanding of the core areas of psychology, including research methods, social psychology, cognitive psychology, and developmental psychology.
- Familiarity with applied psychology fields.
- Competence in the use of digital learning tools and academic technology.
- Strong communication, organizational, and mentoring skills.
- Experience in providing academic and pastoral support to students.
- Excellent English language proficiency (spoken and written).
Experience:
- Assistant Professor position: Minimum of 2 years of teaching at the universities.
- Associate Professor position: Minimum of 12 years and above of academic or research experience at the Assistant Professor level or equivalent.
- Professor Position: Minimum of 20 years and above of academic or research experience at Professor level at Universities.
